Download the kontext installer (2 mb) for all platforms.

Short installation instruction:

• Make sure you have Java 1.4 installed. If you haven’t, get it from the Java download page (you are looking for “Download J2SE”, and then select the link below “JRE”).
• If you’re unsure, open a command line (terminal, command prompt …) and type:
  

  java -version

  The result should look roughly like this:

  java version "1.4.1_01"
  Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1_01-99)
  Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.1_01-27, mixed mode)
  

  If you receive an error message, no Java VM is installed. If your version reads 1.3 or even lower, please consider upgrading to 1.4.

• Start the installation process. On Mac OS X, double-click the jar-file. On GNU/Linux, open a terminal and type “java -jar kontext-install.jar” in the directory you downloaded the installer into. If you’re on Windows and downloaded the zip-file, go to the directory you downloaded it into, unzip it, and double-click on the file called “install” that has that strange “MS-DOS” parody of an icon.
  
  The wizard will take care of the rest.
